The Need to Be Baptized with the Holy Spirit. That’s where we stopped last week. But verses 4 and 5 go on to show that there is another utterly crucial thing that the apostles needed in order to be the most effective instruments in the hands of the living Jesus. They needed to be baptized with the Holy Spirit. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is the rest and refreshing promised in Old Testament prophesy, promised by Isaiah hundreds of years before Pentecost. Your prayer language is a permanent gift, but the gifts of the Holy Spirit are supernaturally given to individuals as the Spirit wills; so we cannot claim any permanent gifts of the Holy Spirit.

In the paper “Baptism in the Holy Spirit,” the author discusses the scores of books by James D. G Dunn. The core of Dunn’s work is based primarily on a StudentShare. power of the Spirit. * The worldwide Pentecost will not come until the way is prepared by repentance, revival, and reformation. God is sending the Holy Spirit to lead His people into needed repentance, revival and reformation. we must have the daily baptism of the Holy Spirit .

Third, Ephesians seems to refer to Spirit baptism. If this is the case, Spirit baptism is the reality for every believer, just as “one faith” and “one Father” are. In conclusion, the baptism of the Holy Spirit does two things, 1) it joins us to the body of Christ, and 2) it actualizes our co-crucifixion with Christ. That necessity is the baptism of the Holy Spirit! Acts is often called “The Acts of the Apostles.” I think it could more correctly be called “The Acts of the Holy Spirit through the Apostles,” because it’s through the supernatural empowerment of the Holy Spirit that the apostles accomplish their mission.

Baptism in the Holy Spirit “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you; and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” The purpose of the baptism in the Holy Spirit is to give believers the power to be a witness —not.

Jan 14,  · The baptism of the Holy Spirit, seen in the book of Acts, is not down to a man made formula of “do a 4 step program”. God deals with different people differently just as He did in Acts.
